Chelsea DAY
I've always been fascinated by transformation. Not the before and after snapshot. The deep tectonic shifts that crack us open. The moments we dissolve into something larger, and the slow work of choosing who we become on the other side.
My path through the healing arts started in New York City, where I spent over a decade as a television producer. The pace was relentless, and my body kept score. At 28, after multiple fibroid surgeries, I was advised to have a hysterectomy. I chose a different path. Acupuncture, ancestral eating, and a stubborn belief that there was another option led to two healthy daughters and a complete reorientation of my life.
That experience sent me to the American College for Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, then to Five Branches University to specialize in Five Elements theory. I opened my first private practice on Valencia Street in 2013.
The years that followed brought three pregnancies, two births, and an unexpected detour into opening a vegan cafe months before the pandemic. Life moved in its own way. So did I. Training through the Kresser Institute as a Functional Health Coach brought me back to myself, and eventually, back to bodywork.
What I do now is the synthesis of all of it: Deep Tissue Bodywork, Five Element theory, Somatic Coaching, and a deep respect for the body's intelligence. Your body has been tracking everything. Patterns live in tissue. The work is learning to read them, and slowly, to let them unwind.
Chelsea lives in West Marin, California, with her two daughters.

The training never stops. Neither does the curiosity.
What you'll find in a session with me is the result of 15+ years of study across Traditional Chinese Medicine, Craniosacral therapy, somatic bodywork, functional medicine, and the Five Elements. I trained at the graduate level in TCM, studied abdominal massage with Gilles Marin in Berkeley, and advanced transformational bodywork with Fred Mitouer. Each lineage taught me something different about how the body holds its story: where Chinese medicine sees elemental patterns, Craniosacral listens for rhythm, and somatic work asks what the tissue is actually trying to say. My Holding Pattern Method is what happens when all of that lands in the same pair of hands.
